Poo-pon

The Khao Sok mangrove roots are large structures that protrude from the base of trees, helping to support the trees in shallow soil or along water edges. These roots range from
5 to 40 people wide and serve to absorb water and nutrients from the soil surface. Additionally, they help collect plant and animal debris on the ground for decomposition, releasing minerals back to the trees.

a vital role in maintaining the ecological balance of the Khao Sok rainforest ecosystem.
